Rev. Gary leads us in the White Stone ceremony. And Maggie leads us in writing Letters to God. A powerful start for the new year.

Affirmation: “As a child of God, I am free to express myself.”
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says…I will give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.” – Revelation 2:17
Hebron, Al Kahlil, Friend
In this area the tomb of the Patriarchs, holy to Jews and Muslims, houses the traditional burial sites of biblical patriarch’s Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and matriarchs, Sarah, Rebecca and Leah.
Both the Hebrew name, Hebron, and the Arabic name, Al Khalil, derives from the word “friend,” a reference to Abraham, the shared forefather of both Jews and Muslims, and the spiritual father of Christians. These are special stones.
“Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery.” – Wayne Dyer
“Freedom is yours, but you must realize it and claim it. There is nothing that can limit or bind you, for in Truth, in Spirit, you are free, unfettered, unbound.” – Martha Smock
“Every man who accomplishes things sees first in his mind what he wishes to do.” – Charles Fillmore
“Every moment of your life is infinitely creative and the universe is endlessly bountiful….
… Just put forth a clear enough request, and everything your heart truly desires must come to you.” – Shakti Gawain
Letters to God
“To affirm anything is to assert positively that it is so, even in the face of all contrary evidence. -H. Emilie Cady
“It is our affirming, backed by our faith, which serves as the link connecting our conscious human need with God’s power and supply.” -H. Emilie Cady
Inside of us –every one of us—is a quiet, secret place. If it feels comfortable, let your eyes close softly, gently…and as your eyes are closing, feel your body begin to relax. And take a few relaxed easy breaths.
We are now immersed in the presence of God…in the presence of Light and Love..and it is from this place that we now take part in the White Stone Ceremony.
We begin to meditate on our spiritual name by silently affirming to ourselves: “I am freeing myself to live more fully. I am conscious of the activity of Spirit in every aspect of my life. I am releasing my self from the limitations of the past. I am releasing myself from old fears and self-doubts. I am releasing myself from the bondage of limiting thoughts about myself…releasing any limiting image of who I am and what I can do with my life…I free myself. I now release myself from my personal prison and gain a new, greater image of myself. I feel a new sense of energy.
Using your minds’ eye, imagine that you are stepping out of whatever prison or feelings of limitation that you have had…the door is opening and you are walking through into freedom. See yourself being given a white stone that says “You are now free. You have a new identity. This is a new day.”
This stone in your hand represents your freedom. Feel it. Feel the smooth stone in you hand and know that it represents release. And it represents the freedom to express your truer self, your highest self.
It is now time to ask Spirit for your name, a word that describes the new you and your new life. What comes to you? Just let it come. You don’t have to try to think it up or try to make it happen. It is already written in your heart, so let it come to you easily.
Feel the stone in your hand. And feel the inner Spirit beckon you. Here is your word, your new name. Here is your new vision of yourself. Here is what you are to accomplish. Here is what you are to embrace and demonstrate. To live out. This is your new beginning. Spirit has decreed a name for you to write on your stone. Take a few moments now and meditate on your new name, in the Silence.
And when you are ready write your word or spiritual name on your white stone. Allow appreciation to flow as we receive our new name. And with it comes the power and guidance to achieve all that we desire. We bless these tiles. Thank you, God!
Having written your new name on your stone, silently repeat it to yourself. Imagine the new power and purpose and direction that this word is giving to your life. If you have not received your new name or word I invite you to take the stone home and meditate on receiving your word, and it will come.
Now, whatever came to you or comes to you later is to be kept private. Or, some people like to share their word with a trusted friend or prayer partner.
Let us pray.
