Roxanna Deane - President
Roxanna Deane began attending Unity Church of Practical Christianity in 2008 and officially became a member on October 4, 2009. She serves as a member of our Prosperity Team as well as a Sunday Morning Greeter. She says that every aspect of this church has made an unbelievably positive difference in her life and she would be honored to contribute to the greater good of the church by serving on the board.
Roxanna earned her B.A. from the University of Missouri and later attended the University of the District of Columbia to earn her Masters of Information Science. She also became a Certified Public Manager through George Washington University. Roxanna was an employee of the D.C. Public Library from 1968 – 2004 where she worked as a Reference librarian, Chief of the Washingtonian Division and Change Agent for Internal Affairs. Since 2004 she has been employed by the Tye Preston Memorial Library in Canyon Lake, and became the Director in August, 2009. Roxanna enjoys reading, genealogy, birding and loom knitting.
Bob Deschner - Secretery
Bob Deschner has been attending Unity Churches for more than 25 years. He began attending our church in 2005 and became a member in September 2008. In this time he has served as a member of the Lay Chaplain team, the Prosperity Team and is a facilitator for the Sunday Sermon Discussion Group. He also actively participates in many of our Adult Education classes and events. Bob is grateful for the blessings and spiritual support, education and growth which he has received during his time at our church. He feels that serving as a board member is one more way that he can serve and grow with our church.
Bob holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Chemistry. He has extensive experience in business, investing, fundraising, marketing, communication, coaching and healing & recovery. He regularly attends the Men In Unity fellowship group and works with veterans to overcome post traumatic stress disorder.
Pat Dell - Treasurer
Pat Dell has been attending Unity churches in Arizona and Texas since 1990. She began attending our services in May of 2009 and became a member the following October. Pat has been acting as one of our devoted Lay Chaplains since September 2009 and has been very committed to the church. Pat shares the responsibility of leading our Wednesday evening Meditation service with Linda Gillispie. Pat has been our go-to person for many computer needs, including restoring the office computer following a fatal malware attack. While attending Unity Church of Austin, she headed up the bookstore committee and set up the computer system for their bookstore.
Pat earned her Bachelor of Sciene degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona, and worked for Honeywell for 19 years. Since 2000, she has worked as a computer consultant in her spare time. Pat loves animals and traveling. She was born in Banbury, England, and lived through the 1964 earthquake in Anchorage, AK, an 8.6 on the richter scale. She now lives in Buda.
Mary Anne Ybarra - Secretary
Mary Anne Ybarra became a member of our church April, 2011. She is a Lay Chaplain and Sunday Service Coordinator. She is leading the Tuesday Prayer and book study group and actively attends Adult Ed classes. She feels, with her spiritual and extensive management experience, that she is devoted to assist our ministry's growth and prosperity.
Mary Anne is a Registered Nurse and has a Masters Degree in Health Care Management from La Salle University. She has served as a Legal Nurse Consultant, Director of Clinical Services and is a Certified Life Coach and Reiki Master. She currently manages a Health and Wellness business offering retreats, workshops and personal coaching. She states the ability to make careful and thoughtful decisions with attention to detail as what she has learned to do best. She is currently holding the umbrella for our church Wholeness and Wellness program development and is passionately hoping to continue this mission.
Steve Beach
Steve Beach became a member of our church in February 2005, and has visited Unity Village and attended regional conferences over the years. Steve serves as Platform Leader, started the Men In Unity fellowship group, and has served on our Prosperity Team. He feels that he brings both spiritual and business experience to assist us in building a strong foundation for the future of our ministry.
Steve attended the University of Texas, Austin. He has worked as the V.P. of Sales, General Manager and Owner of a successful printing company. He says, “Having run a successful business I know how decisions have impact on others and asking the hard questions is what I do In addition when I'm wrong, I admit it.”
Wes Mings
Wesley Mings has been a member of our church since 2005 and has been a part of the music ministry team since 2004. He feels that Unity has shown him how to be open to God, and he is ready to help his church in any way he can.
Wesley is self-employed in tile installation. He has played music professionally for over 20 years, and he offers this talent to our church family as a volunteer on the music team.
Lynn Tiller
Lynn Tiller is a retired ordained minister with the Disciples of Christ Church. He became a member of our church in April 2010. Lynn is a current Lay Chaplain and actively participates in our Adult Education programs. He feels called to serve as a member of the board and offer his professional and spiritual experience to help grow our ministry.
Lynn holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from North Texas Univeristy and a Master’s of Divinity from Texas Christian University. He has 49 years of experience in accounting and has worked as a CPA for the past 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where he was responsible for a headquarters company supply room. Lynn spent several years as a missionary in Africa with the Department of Overseas Ministries of the Christian Church.
